At ILRI we intentionally further our culture of innovation. Currently we are transforming the info centre on the Nairobi campus into a multi-use co-working space. Our goal is to create a flexible collaboration hub for researchers, PhD students, fellows, staff from the regions and partners alike.
CGIAR research programs are developing country collaboration processes to help CGIAR centres collaborate among themselves and with other critical national partners. Communication and engagement are critical to such processes and a communication team is well placed to help there, as is the case in Ethiopia.
A CGIAR-led half-day training session on ‘key messaging and pitching for impact and influencing decision makers to take up research’ was held on the last day of a ResUp Meet Up Symposium and Training Exchange held 9-12 February 2015 in Nairobi, to explore emerging issues and advance skills and practice in research uptake.
ILRI’s Capacity Development (CapDev) Unit working in collaboration with People & Organizational Development (P&OD) Unit and the Training Centre for Communication (TCC), recently delivered a highly interactive and practical workshop designed to give ILRI graduate fellows, post-doctoral fellows and early career researchers, an opportunity to understand the process of scientific writing and publishing
Among many platforms and apps developed, my attention caught by a platform called Mkulima (a young farmer helping a young farmer) which is a social media platform to engage young farmers.
